General information

Legion herbicide: method of application and consumption rate

LEGION - post-emergence systemic graminicide for controlling cereal weeds in sugar beet, soybean, sunflower and flax crops.

Benefits of Legion:

  • ABOUTprovides for the death of the root system of weeds, preventing their growth,
  • Havea wide range of annual and perennial grass weeds,
  • ATHigh impact speed - quick visual effect
  • PRegardless of the stage of cultural development,
  • HExpenditure rates.

The mechanism of action of the drug Legion

A drug Legion quickly penetrates into weeds through leaves and stems, actively moves along them, concentrating at the points of growth. Sensitive Weed Herbicide Legion binds to the enzyme acetyl-CoA-carboxylase, blocking lipid synthesis, which leads to cessation of growth and death of weeds.

The spectrum of activity of the drug Legion

Herbicide Legion suppresses annual gramineous weeds: canary grass, brome (species), foxtail, apera, annual bluegrass, wild oat ordinary, ryegrass, barnyardgrass, ryegrass (species), crabgrass Blutwurst, foxtail bluish, green foxtail, self-sown cereals and maize, as well as perennial gramineous weeds - wheat grass, creeping, diary palmate, gumai (allee sorghum).

The impact rate of Legion: within 1-2 days after treatment, weed growth ceases. After 3-5 days, browning points of growth are observed. Total death occurs in 7-12 days. Rhizomes dry out after 12-20 days.

Symptoms of the impact of the drug Legion

The browning and dying off of the points of growth of internodes, the leaves acquire a chlorotic, orange, red or purple color.

The period of the protective action of the drug Legion

In the absence of a new "wave" of cereal weeds, the effectiveness of the drug Legion persists throughout the growing season.

Terms of use of the drug Legion

Restrictions on the use of the drug Legion on phases of development of cultures are absent.

  • Annual cereals weeds are treated in the phase of 3-6 leaves, regardless of the phase of development of the culture.
  • Perennial cereal , including creeping wheatgrass, sprayed with a height of weeds 15-20 cm, when the area of the leaves of weeds will be sufficient to absorb the drug.

Technology use of the drug Legion

A drug Legion it is used only in a mixture with adjuvant Helper Forte in a 1: 1 ratio. Helper Forte provides good adhesion of the drug and enhances the penetration of clethodim into plants, which allows even in extreme weather conditions to obtain high efficiency at low application rates. The optimal temperature for the use of the drug Legion from 8 ° C to + 25 ° C.

Minimum dosage of the drug Legion provide reliable protection of crops against weeds on condition of introduction in optimum terms.

Maximum - with a high density of clogging (over 300 pieces / m 2) and overgrown weeds.

In the event of the occurrence of two “waves” of weed sprouting (for example, the early ones — the Grayscale, oats, and the late — bristles, chicken millet), fractional introduction is possible with a minimum consumption rate of 0.2 l / ha. Processing should be carried out before closing the rows of culture.

Compatibility of the drug Legion with other pesticides

In tank mixtures drug Legion has a synergistic effect, enhances the rate of penetration and the effect of the active ingredients of other components of the mixture due to Helper Forte. Beetroot works excellent mixture The legion with anti-wood herbicides Bifor 22, Bifor Progress, Agron Grand and others, as well as with insecticides.

Basic information

Active substance: clethodim, 240 g / l.

Preparative form: emulsion concentrate.

Chemical class: cyclohexanedione derivatives.

Mechanism of action: The Legion quickly penetrates into weeds through leaves and stems, actively moves along them, concentrating at the points of growth. In sensitive species, the herbicide binds to the enzyme acetyl-CoA-carboxylase, blocking lipid synthesis, which leads to cessation of weed growth and death.

Spectrum of activity: The Legion suppresses annual cereal weeds - canary, bonfire (species), foxtail, metlitsu, annual bluegrass, common oatmeal, chaff, chicken millet, ryegrass (species), rosy blood, bristle, green bristle, self-sown grain and corn, and corn, and bristles, green bristles, green bristles, self-seeding grains and corn, and corn, and bristles, green bristles, green bristles, self-seeding grains and corn, and corn, and bristle cereal weeds - wheat grass, creeping, with palm feces, gumay (sorghum allepskoe).

Impact speed: within 1 to 2 days after treatment, weed growth ceases. After 3–7 days, browning of growth points and chlorosis are observed (anthocyanosis is possible). Total death occurs in 7 to 12 days. Rhizomes dry out after 12 - 20 days.

Symptoms of exposure: browning and dying off of points of growth of internodes, leaves acquire chlorotic, orange, red or purple color.

Period of protective action: until the next "wave" of weeds.

Terms of application: annual cereal weeds are treated in the phase of 3-6 leaves, regardless of the phase of development of the culture.

Perennial cereals, including wheatgrass, creeping, sprayed at a height of weeds of 15 - 20 cm, when the area of the leaves of weeds will be sufficient to absorb the drug.

Application technology: Legion is used only in a mixture with the helper Forte adjuvant in a 1: 1 ratio. Helper Forte provides good adhesion of the drug and enhances the penetration of clethodim into plants, which allows even in extreme weather conditions to obtain high efficiency at low application rates. The optimum temperature for the application of Legion is from + 10 ° C to + 25 ° C.

Minimal dosages of the preparation provide reliable protection of crops against actively growing weeds, provided that they are applied in optimal time and using well-adjusted sprayers.

Maximum - with a high density of clogging (over 300 pieces / m 2) or overgrown weeds.

In the event of the occurrence of two “waves” of weed sprouting (for example, the early ones are the Grayscale, oats, the late ones are bristles, chicken millet), fractional introduction is possible with a minimum consumption rate of 0.2 - 0.3 l / ha. Processing of crops should be carried out before the closure of the rows of culture.

Compatibility: Legion has a synergistic effect in tank mixes; it increases the penetration rate and the effect of other components of the mix due to Helper Forte. Beetroots are excellent for Legion blends with anti-woodbic herbicides.

Preparation of working solution: fill the sprayer tank 1/3 with water, with constant stirring add the required amount of Legion, then pour the appropriate amount of Helper Forte along with the missing volume of water. As when using Legion in its pure form, and in tank mixtures, Helper Forte is put in the sprayer tank last, otherwise, due to the abundant foam when adding an adjuvant, part of the solution may spill out of the sprayer.

Fluid flow rate: 200 - 300 l / ha.

Packaging: 5 l canister

Storage temperature: from 0 to + 30 ° С

Active ingredient and release form

In preparation, the active substance is cletodim, it contains 24% there. Available in "Legion" in the form of an emulsion concentrate. It is usually sold in 5 liter cans or in 1000 l IBC containers.

What weeds are effective against

"Legion" has a selective (selective) action and is used against grass weeds, both annual and perennial. Of the annual such species: canary, foxtail, broomstick, annual bluegrass, various types of fire and many other cereals.

Perennial grasses subjected to the action of the herbicide: creeping couch grass, finger finger, gumai. In addition, it destroys the self-sowing of grain and maize.

Benefits

The drug has a number of undoubted advantages:

  • gives quick results after application,
  • destroys the roots of weeds,
  • protects crops from a variety of grass weeds, maize self-sowing and cereals,
  • effectively used with other drugs
  • used at any stage of development of the crop,
  • Consumption "Legion" is relatively small.

Mechanism of action

Inside the weeds "Legion" enters through their stems and leaves. There it accumulates both in the roots and in the surface part of the plants, and at the same time they stop the process of synthesis of organic compounds. This first stops their growth, and then causes death. Externally, the effect of the drug is manifested as chlorosis of the leaves (that is, a lack of chlorophyll) - they turn yellow or red. First, the aboveground part of the plant dies, and then its roots, which is especially important in case of a field damage by perennial weeds.

Application and consumption

As noted above, the considered herbicide is used at any stage of development of cultivated plants at temperatures from + 8 ° C to + 25 ° C. But for weeds there are optimal treatment periods.

Annual cereals should be processed when they are in the phase of 3-6 leaves. Perennial weeds are sprayed when they reach a growth of 15-20 cm.

The consumption rate of herbicide "Legion" is moderate. Usually consumed from 200 liters to 300 liters (depending on the density of weeds) of the prepared solution per hectare.

Impact speed

The use of the drug gives a quick effect. The growth of weeds stops in a day or two. After 3-5 days, they show signs of chlorosis, after 7-12 days the plants die. Well, about 12-20 days after the herbicide is applied, weed roots dry out, which guarantees their complete eradication.

Storage conditions

It is stored in a dry and cool room, inaccessible to direct sunlight and with the possibility of airing. It is also necessary to exclude the possibility of access to such a room for children and animals, as this herbicide is still toxic. By reviewing the properties of the herbicide Legion, it can be concluded that it is an effective drug to combat cereal weeds.
